Last Friday, two of Donovan High School’s seniors (along with other area seniors) were honored by receiving Good Citizens Awards. Kylee Faupel earned the good citizen award from the Daughters of the American Revolution. Paiton Lareau earned the good citizen award from the Sons of the American Revolution. St. John Lutheran Church in Schwer, IL hosted the event.

Congratulations to Donovan Jr. Sr. High School Principal, Mr. Andy Jordan for being named Illinois Principal Association Cornbelt Region Principal of the Year.
Mr. Jordan and his family reside in Martinton, Illinois. He is married to his wife, Sarah, and they have a first grade son and identical twin girls in kindergarten, all at Donovan Elementary. They also have a soon to be one year old son at home.
Mr. Jordan is currently the Principal at Donovan Jr. Sr. High School. He began his career as a high school physical education and driver education teacher at West Prairie High School in Sciota, IL. He was also the varsity boys basketball coach for six years before becoming an assistant principal. Andy enjoys sports, playing basketball, 5k runs, and golf. His wife is also a teacher and has dedicated her career to helping and growing students that she serves.
During his time at Donovan, he has emphasized a positive building culture that has led to an awesome learning environment for Donovan students. He has added dress-up days, assemblies, and enrichment opportunities for our students. Mr. Jordan has promoted the climate of our school by adding positive posters of the students and staff to the walls of our building. Due to his work, we have received multiple grants to increase technology throughout our school. He also secured the Illinois Tutoring Initiative Grant for Donovan Jr. Sr. High School. Currently, every Jr. High School students are now receiving tutoring in math.

English 1 students completed their mask projects as part of a unit on William Golding's novel, The Lord of the Flies. Great job!
